Process Improvement Using Lean Methods
Many companies are improving their competitive edge by applying Lean methods to create process improvements. At its most basic level, Lean is the elimination of waste from processes. The most successful organizations have found Lean to be more than tools and methods, but rather an attitude, culture, and long-term approach to continual improvement. In this certificate series, participants receive an introduction to the Lean way of thinking, learn to apply the methods to either a manufacturing or office setting, and become familiar with the cultural aspects critical to a successful transformation to a Lean organization.
The Lean certificate will be earned with completion of 3½ days of classroom programs in addition to pre-course work. Post-course work is available, although optional. Participants will choose between the two Key Tools classes--Manufacturing or Office--whichever one is most appropriate. Other classes remain the same.
